Conclusion

HIFU treatment offers a completely non invasive approach. Moreover, imaging guidance gives a new interventional point of view thanks both to temperature checking and lesion visualization. MRgFUS allows therefore the opportunity to visualize the real-time efficacy of the treatment and all potential adverse reactions including damage to sensitive organs. Certainly, the desirability of this procedure is comparable only to its complexity, and a careful evaluation of the lesion and the district to be treated is mandatory to ensure an efficacy and safety treatment, as well as specific knowledge and competences are needed.
