|Beyond Osteoid Osteoma and pain palliation for Bone Mets: recent clinical developments and perspective in using MRgFUS in bone painful lesions|
MRgFUS has become a valid minimally-invasive technique in the ablation approach of numerous pathologies. Indeed, clinical results achieved in the last few years in the treatment of bone tumors, symptomatic uterine fibroids or essential tremors, have lead to pay more attention to this high efficacy technique.
Among its application, treatment of bone tumors is one of the most interesting field of application, considering the fascinating results described in literature. Notably, MRgFUS effectiveness in the treatment of Osteoid Osteoma and in bone mets pain palliation are widely described. However, the high efficacy of MRgFUS in thermal ablation of superficial bone lesion and its complete non-invasive approach offer further prospects for use. Therefore, the aim of our presentation is to show, through our experience, MRgFUS efficacy in the treatment of superficial painful bone lesion.
