Conclusion

CT, MRI and PET/CT imaging are complementary in the assessment of NPC. MRI is superior in depiction and delineation of local tumor extent. CT remains helpful in the study of nodal and thoracic areas or when the status of the skull base is uncertain on MRI.

 

PET/CT demonstrates higher diagnosis accuracy in the detection of nodal and distant metastases.
