Learning objectives

 

The most common surgical complications of middle ear surgery are lesions to the facial nerve and meningoencephalocele.

 

The complications of stapes surgery may concern the middle ear, the inner ear or the oval window.

 

All of these complications may be prevented by a precise and oriented analysis of the preoperative imaging.
