prognosis and complications.
Methods and Materials
We analyze pelvic fractures diagnosed at our center at last four .
168 patients were diagnosed of pelvic fractures; 60 (35.7%) women,
108 (64.3%) men; age range 11-95 years,
mean of 45.4. In 42 patients (25%) were criteria of osteoporosis as a risk factor. Mechanisms of production: - Accidental fall in 62 patients (36.9%). - Accident,
76 (45.3%); abuse,
12 (15.7%). - Crushing,
4 (2.4%). - Other,
1 (0.6%). Place of fractures: - Branches hamstring and / or ilio-pubics in 69 patients (41.1%); associated iliac bone fracture in 7 (10.1%) and sacral in 14 (20.2%)....
- CT-imaging is fundamental in the study of pelvic fractures in diagnosis of fractures,
associated findings and active bleeding. - Evolution is acceptable and the treatment of choice is conservative in case of single fractures and / or displaced.
