|Use of the Ultrasound guided treatment of light fibrinolysis and viscosupplementation of the musculotendineous district of the ankle in athletes , for quicker recovery.|
Methods and Materials
We have used a machine Philips Ui22 with a linear probe by 17.5 MHz .
All selected athletes did not have any benefit from traditional treatments with standard physical therapy rehabilitation protocols and by the modification of their athletic training , according to their problems.
We have treated 15 athletes from different sports ( soccer, hockey,rugby,basketball,volleyball) with a comnined treatment on tendons, myotendinous joints and intraarticular sites.
The treatment has been carried on with ultrasound guidance and a linear probe by 17.5 MHz through the techinque of " in-plane" approach , and sometimes of " out-of -plane " approach , with a 30 mm -long , and in certain cases 90 mm long 18 or 20 G needle.
Sometimes We have used a specific ultrasound bracket ( Fig.1 ) for our probe to obtain the correct angle guidance of the needle to reach the target point of the lesion.
